What is a Domestic EPC?

An Energy Performance Certificate summarises a home’s energy efficiency and includes recommendations for improvement. The assessment considers the building fabric, heating, hot water and controls to build a picture of the property’s energy performance.

Our domestic EPC service supports homeowners, landlords and letting agents with a property visit, lodged certificate and a clear explanation of the results.

Frequently asked questions

Will you need to visit the property?
Yes. A domestic EPC normally requires an on-site assessment to record the property’s features.
Does an EPC include a full condition survey?
No. An EPC assesses energy performance. A retrofit assessment or condition survey serves a different purpose.
Can you assess flats and rented homes?
Send the property details and postcode so we can confirm the appointment and access requirements.
What if my insulation is hidden?
Provide suitable documentary evidence where available. The assessor will explain what evidence can be used under the assessment rules.
